1. Who we are

TaxStrategyHQ ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at taxstrategyhq.com (the "Service"). We are a matching service that connects US consumers who have IRS tax debt with vetted tax resolution firms. We are not a tax resolution firm, law firm, accounting firm, or government agency.

2. Information we collect

  • Quiz answers: situation description, debt range, employment type, state, IRS notice status.
  • Contact information: first and last name, email address, phone number.
  • Consent records: timestamp, IP address, browser/device, TrustedForm certificate ID (when enabled), checked-box state.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referrer.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 5.

3. How we use your information

  • To match you with one (1) vetted tax resolution firm based on your situation and state.
  • To contact you (and to enable the matched firm to contact you) regarding your match.
  • To improve our service.
  • To comply with legal obligations and defend against legal claims.

4. How we share your information

This is the most important section. Please read carefully.

The one matched firm

When you complete our eligibility check and consent to be contacted, we share the information you provided (including your contact details, state, debt range, employment type, and notice status) with the one (1) tax resolution firm we have matched to your specific situation. We do not sell, syndicate, or ping-tree your information to multiple buyers, lead networks, or general aggregators. Our partner vetting standards are published at /partners-list.

Service providers

We share information with third-party service providers that help us operate the site, including hosting (Cloudflare), email delivery (Resend), consent certification (TrustedForm by ActiveProspect), and analytics. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may not use your information for their own marketing.

Legal / compliance

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to defend against legal claims.

What we do NOT do

  • Sell your personal information for monetary consideration.
  • Share your information with anyone other than the one tax resolution firm we match you with, our service providers (see above), or where required by law.
  • Share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Allow our matched partner to share your information with other third parties without your separate consent.

If you submit information through our eligibility check, the matched tax resolution firm will contact you to discuss your situation. You may opt out of that contact at any time by replying STOP to any SMS or calling/emailing the firm directly. To opt out of TaxStrategyHQ contact, email [email protected].

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, analytics, and consent tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work.

6. Your rights

Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing.

California residents: We currently do not match California residents with tax resolution partner firms and do not collect contact information from consumers who indicate California residency on our eligibility check. However, when California residents visit our website, we may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, and cookies. California residents have CCPA/CPRA rights with respect to that site-visitor information, including the right to know what we collect, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information.

7. Data retention

  • Lead data (including consent records, TrustedForm cert URL, IP, timestamp, and form payload): retained for 7 years from submission to align with the longest applicable statute of limitations under federal and state telephone consumer protection laws.
  • Marketing email subscribers: until unsubscribe + 90 days.
  • Site analytics: aggregate and de-identified data retained per platform defaults.

You may request deletion of your data by emailing [email protected]. We honor deletion requests except where retention is required by law or needed for legal defense.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll post the updated version with a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated by email to users who provided one.
